The first promo trailer for Lee Sngmoo's "The Warrior's Way" starring Kate Bosworth, Jang Dong-kun, and Geoffrey Rush has leaked online! Unlike any other trailers, this video which was first found by 24Fps lasts for nearly four minutes. No official trailer yet nor an actual theatrical release date has been announced, but is widely reported to be released in U.S. theaters sometime in August. The promo trailer as does Kate looks pretty good. Check it out (while it's still available for viewing)!

A trailer has been leaked online for THE WARRIOR'S WAY (formerly LAUNDRY WARRIOR), a $45 million Korean-New Zealand co-production from producers Barrie M. Osbourne (LOTR), Lee Joo-ick (BATTLE OF WITS) and Michael Peyser (SPEED 2). This effects-heavy, English-language fantasy actioner stars Jang Dong-kun (THE PROMISE), Kate Bosworth (SUPERMAN RETURNS) and GEOFFREY RUSH (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN).
Mixing wuxia, western and anime themes with highly stylized visuals, THE WARRIOR'S WAY concerns Yang (Jang), the world's greatest swordsman, who betrays his clan to save his final enemy. He travels from Asia to a dying gold rush town in the American Old West where he goes into hiding by working as a lowly laundryman. Yang attempts to put his past behind him while befriending a band of carnival workers, the fiery-tempered Lynne (Bosworth) and Ron (Rush), the town drunk with a secret past.

When Lynne is threatened by a gang led by a Colonel (Danny Huston), Yang comes out of hiding to protect her with his sword skills and finds himself forced to face the past he was hoping to put behind him.

THE WARRIOR'S WAY looks to be the first ever fantasy-wuxia-western combination and will break further ground by being an international production with an Asian lead that is currently set to premiere in the U.S. in August.
The film features the fight choreography of Japanese action director Yuji Shimomura, a protégé of Donnie Yen with AD credits that include VERSUS, ARAGAMI, SHINOBI: HEART UNDER BLADE, and motion capture for several action video games including DEVIL MAY CRY 4.
Kensuke Sonomura is assistant fight choreographer and stunts have been overseen by Hollywood veteran Augie Davis (THE WATER HORSE).

'Coraline' Unearths Official Site, New Featurettes and Complete Alphabet Cards

Less than two months away from its theatrical release "Coraline" has launched its official website and released several featurettes. One of the videos released to promote the 3D movies is "Meet the Cast" where characters like piano man, The Cat, Miss Forcible and others are given introduction.


The official site of the 3D movie contains lots of interesting features such as a peek on Coraline's bedroom and Other Mother's workshop where fans can upload their picture to see what they look like in Coraline's world. Also included are hidden behind-the-scene videos and goodies to download that can be noticed when one explores and clicks around.


The complete alphabet card from A to Z is also released, giving explanation on some terms and character traits in the movie.


"Coraline" will be released in U.S. theaters on February 6, 2009. Voice talents among others are filled by Dakota Fanning as the titular character, Teri Hatcher as Coraline's Mother/Other Mother, and Ian McShane as Mr. Bobinski.

Brandon Routh in Bollywood film 'Kambakkth Ishq' slated for release in May 2009

According to The Siasat Daily, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Kambakkht Ishq' by debutant director Sabir Khan will hit the theatres on May 29, 2009.

Till now, the movie has hogged the limelight owing to the presence of multiple Hollywood celebrities like Denise Richards, Brandon Routh, Sylvester Stallone... Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and presented by Eros International, 'Kambakkth Ishq' tells the story of a Hollywood stuntman, played by Akshay Kumar.

'Kambakkth Ishq' has been shot in beautiful locales of Los Angeles and Italy.

Kate Bosworth Digs Dogs

21 star Kate Bosworth has a girls’ night out at a West Hollywood restaurant on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old actress recently had an interview with the UK version of Marie Claire and declared her love of dogs, saying, “The dog will stay in the bed before the man will!”

Kate mentioned that growing up, “My mom was a real animal person… so I grew up with the dogs sleeping in the beds. My boyfriend found that really odd the first couple of times he stayed over!” Kate is currently dating model/musician James Rousseau.

Her upcoming movie, The Laundry Warrior, co-starring Geoffrey Rush opens next year.

Movie Update: Kate Bosworth's Laundry Warrior to be released in March 2009

As previously posted here, Kate Bosworth's The Laundry Warrior won’t be released until early 2009 because the release slots for movies for the end of this year in the US are full already.

Here's an update (from HanCinema.net):

Jang Dong-gun’s debut film in Hollywood is being released to the public in Europe also next year!

This film is hitting the market worldwide!

“Laundry Warrior” is finishing up filming last half of this film starring Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush. The producer for the movie “Lord of the Rings” is also producing this film.

The film will be released in March 2009 in time for starting the summer season.

It is about an Asian Warrior who has crossed the seas and arrived in the wild West of the U.S where his adventure begins.

Living in hiding as a laundryman in a dying gold rush town, he befriends a band of unemployed carnival players, the fiery young Lynne (Kate Bosworth) and Ron (Geoffrey Rush), the town drunk with a buried past.


Yang attempts to put his violent past behind him, but is forced to unsheath his sword to defend Lynne from a vicious gang led by Colonel (Danny Huston), leading to an epic final battle in which Yang's love for Lynne and loyalty to his new friends are tested as his past and present collide.

SM: How did Photon first get involved with this movie?

DD: When I became alerted that the production was considering shooting in New Zealand, I discussed the possibility of working on it with my colleague, Murray Francis. Murray and I had just both shared a producing credit on an animated production completed through Photon Animation - a subsidiary of Photon NZFX. As it turned out, Murray eventually became the line producer for The Laundry Warrior, but at the time, this had not been formalised yet.

According to Kate-Bosworth.org, looks like there's no KB movies to be released later this year. Ifensi.com reports that Kate’s latest movie The Laundry Warrior won’t be released until early 2009 because the release slots for movies for the end of this year in the US are full already.

Kate Bosworth's Laundry Warrior Film Gets Financial Deal

According to Screen Daily, Specialty finance and investment company Continental Entertainment Capital (CEC) has announced a single-picture financing deal for highly-anticipated, English-language action feature The Laundry Warrior.

Total production capital for the project, which stars Geoffrey Rush, Kate Bosworth and Korean star Jang Dong-gun, comes from a combination of CEC's financing and third-party equity.

Budgeted at $47m, The Laundry Warrior is produced by Lord Of The Rings producer Barrie Osborne, Michael Peyser (Ruthless People) and Korea's Joo-ick Lee (Seven Swords).

The UK's Footprint Investment Fund provided earlier bridge financing in support of the project, which has just wrapped in New Zealand.

Written and directed by Sngmoo Lee, the film follows a fugitive Asian warrior played by Jang, who hides in the American badlands, where he encounters the town drunk (Rush) and a beautiful but troubled woman (Bosworth).

The action sequences of the film were designed in collaboration with Weta Digital of New Zealand. The visual effects are being executed by companies in the US, New Zealand and Korea. Kathy Morgan International is selling international rights, while North American rights are being handled by Osborne and Peyser.

Launched in April 2007, and based in New York and Los Angeles, CEC is an affiliate of Citi's Global Special Situations Group.
