Today, August 17th is traditionally recognized as Lois Lane's birthday!
Three days lateron , it'll be another Lois Lane's birthday! The actress currently playing the iconic LL on the big screen in Golden Globe winner and 5-time Oscar Nominee Amy Adams's(Lois Lane ofMan of Steelfilm (Released June 14th, 2013 and available on DVD/Blu-ray) and the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (in theaters March 25th, 2016) birthday (August 20th).
For today, it's all about Miss LOIS LANE, the iconic and beloved Superman character(and Clark Kent/Superman's leading lady/true love as well as Daily Planet co-worker).
Great news! Warner Bros. Pictures announced yesterday their plans to release a slate of stand-alone Batman and Superman films and at least 10 movies starting with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice withHenry Cavill(Clark Kent/Superman),Amy Adams(Lois Lane), Ben Affleck(Bruce Wayne/Batman) returning for Justice League Part One and Part Two both to be directed by Zack Snyder, and Wonder Woman (starring Gal Gadot) to name a few.
The Studio will release three pictures, in 2016, 2018 and 2020, based on
best-selling author J.K. Rowling’s original story and screenwriting
debut, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Set in an extension of
her familiar wizarding world, featuring magical creatures and characters
inspired by Harry Potter’s Hogwarts textbook and its fictitious author,
Newt Scamander, “Fantastic Beasts” will be directed by David Yates, who
directed the last four Harry Potter movies, and reunite the filmmaking
team of David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.
And, in a massive expansion of the Studio’s DC Entertainment-branded
content, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema will release a slate
of at least 10 movies—as well as stand-alone Batman and Superman
films—from 2016 through 2020 that expands this prized universe of
characters:

Lots of super buzz and excitement about Zack Snyder's Man of Steelsequel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceat the 2014 San Diego International Comic-Con earlier this afternoon when Mr. Snyder (didn't disappoint!) appeared teasing the crowd at Hall Hall about the film, showing a quick BvSfootage of Batman and Superman, individual BvS posters of Batman, Superman and a Wonder Womancostume reveal in a poster as well as the the trinity superhero actors: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gala Gadot!!
Check out some photos, YouTube videos (including the teaser footage!), and vine video (via Josh Dickey) of them below as well as Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman poster, new Ben Affleck Batman still, and a recap of the BvS SDCC presentation (all images and posters courtesy of various people on twitter and director Zack Snyder's HQ Wonder Woman poster and Ben Affleck's new Batman still!) below...

SDCC 2014: Batman v Superman panel
featuring Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot
The panel began with Warner Bros. using the biggest side-screens they’ve ever used – they encompassed half the sides of the hall – and they used all of them to showcase a collection of concept art, glimpsed through flashes of lightning to see the two heroes in their glory. We saw Batman and the glowing eyes of his battle suit. We saw Superman carrying the body of a young woman on an alien landscape with a downed spacecraft behind him. We couldn’t put any story together from it, but we definitely knew what was happening when the wide screens were used to show the two heroes staring each other down.
Then the lights came up and director Zack Snyder took the stage. He told us that they were just shooting last night, but they still came here today. Snyder did a nice little tease for the audience about how they hadn’t shot very much, he knows footage is expected but…Oh, they have a little something…
*Crowd loses mind. Might start rampaging if they don’t get footage.*
“But we have a little teaser,” says Snyder.
Footage
It’s pouring down rain in the night sky. Batman is an armored suit, his eyes glowing, and standing next to the Bat-Signal. He pulls down a switch and powers it up. The Bat-Signal (bearing the new Bat-Symbol) blasts into the sky. We pan to follow the light, but in the sky, floating in front of the signal, is Superman. His arms are crossed. His cape billows in the wind. Batman, with his mask’s glowing eyes, stares down the Man of Steel. And the Man of Steel stares back. His eyes begin to glow red. Cut back to the Dark Knight. He is unmoved. Cut to black.
After the lights come up, Snyder brings on Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot. There are individual posters for Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman on the side screens. They wave hello, and then we get to see the footage again, and then we’re done.
Our current Superman actor Henry Cavill, who starred as Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman in Man of Steel (which was released last year in theaters last June 14th, 2013!) turns super big 31 years old today on Cinco de Mayo! Henry will be playing Clark Kent/Superman in 2 more upcoming Superman films: the still untitled Superman vs. Batman (working title), which starts filming sometime this month and the recently announced Justice League (no release date yet).
Henry Cavill grew up in Jersey, Channel Islands. Jersey is his home but he is currently, in his own words, "floating around the world." He has four brothers and a pet parrot. Henry Cavill was a main actor the boarding school he attended. The boarding school, Stowe School, is located in Buckingham. His roles include Oberon in a rendition of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"... See full bio (via IMDB) »

The Superman 75th Anniversary animated short by Zack Snyder and Bruce Timm is now available to view online at the Entertainment Weekly website and DC Comics YouTube channel or watch it below. Also, I made screen captures of Man of Steelstar Henry Cavilland the late ChristopherReeve's animated Superman counterparts below. This Superman short will be included on the Man of Steel Blu-ray, out Nov. 12.
In honor of the hero's 75th anniversary,Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and DC animated universe maestro Bruce Timm have crafted this two-minute animated short, which blasts through the highlights of the character's many incarnations, from comics, to movies, video games, and even pop art.
"The idea was to start with Siegel and Shuster and end with Henry Cavill, stopping at all the high points and iconic moments in between."
The short, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, begins with an extreme close-up of that classic car-lifting cover from Action Comics #1, which Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created in 1938, while the familiar build-up to John William's triumphant theme from the 1978 movie thrums on the soundtrack. The music eventually merges with Hans Zimmer's theme from this summer's Man of Steel, with Zimmer scoring and orchestrating the combination himself, using an 80-piece orchestra.
