L.A. screenwriter David Sumner (James Marsden) relocates with his wife Amy (Kate Bosworth) to her hometown in the deep South. There, while tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with locals becomes a threat to them both.

Hollywood Elsewhere visited the set of Kate Bosworth's upcoming new film with former Superman Returns co-star James Marsden.

Today's visit to the Straw Dogs interior sound-stage set in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana was a fascinating burrow; ditto visiting the exterior of the farmhouse, located in the fictional Mississippi town of Blackwater, that David and Amy Sumner (James Marsden, Kate Bosworth) move into, live in and then, during the third act, defend in a violent siege by five locals (James Woods, Alexander Skarsgard, Drew Powell, Rhys Coiro, Billy Lush). Except I'm not allowed to write about anything except in a general way, so here's some aroma & atmosphere.

Behind The Scenes: On set photos of Kate Bosworth in Straw Dogs film

Filming has already started (since last Aug. 17th) for Kate Bosworth's upcoming film Straw Dogs with SR co-star James Marsden and True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard. Actors James Woods and Prison Break's Dominic Purcell just recently joined the cast. Straw Dogs is set to be released in theaters February 11th, 2011.

Movie News: Kate Bosworth joins James Marsden and Alexander Skarsgard in Straw Dogs

Kate Bosworth is co-starring again (unfortunately, not in another Superman movie) with her Superman Returns co-star James Marsden in a new movie, Straw Dogs.

Variety reports that Screen Gems has set Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard to star alongside James Marsden in "Straw Dogs," a reimagining of the 1971 Sam Peckinpah film.

Rod Lurie wrote the script and will direct. Shooting is scheduled to begin in August.

Marsden plays a Hollywood screenwriter who relocates with his wife to her hometown in Mississippi. Bosworth plays the wife, who left the South for LA. to become an actress and returns home so her husband can finish his script in quiet. Skarsgard plays her high school boyfriend, an ex-football hero who sees the return of his former girlfriend as a way to reclaim glory.

Bosworth, most recently seen in "21," next stars in "Warrior's Way." Skarsgard is playing the badass vampire Eric Northman in HBO's "True Blood." Before that, he starred in HBO's "Generation Kill."

Marc Frydman and Lurie are producing through their Battleplan Prods. banner. Gilbert Dumontet, who brought the project to Screen Gems, is executive producer.
