Weekend Box Office: Henry Cavill's Immortals #1 with $32M!

's new film Immortals 3D tops this weekend's U.S. domestic box office (surpassing its distributor, Relativity Media's $26 million expectation) with an estimated gross of $32 million! Yay, great news for Henry (in his first starring/lead role in a big action film!) and Immortals! It had gotten mixed reviews (though mostly positive on Henry Cavill) on most film critics, but the majority of film goers/movie fans actually loved and enjoyed the movie enough for it to get to the top of this weekend's BO result and earning more than it was expected to make, which rightly deserves so. I saw the 3D version of the movie Saturday afternoon and I thought it was AWESOME! Henry Cavill didn't disappoint, he was superb, impressive, eye-candy, mesmerizing, and amazing in the film! Great movie! It was visually stunning (even more so on 3D) too! Go see it, if you haven't already! Henry was super-heroic (and super-hot shirtless too with those amazing abs!) in the film, which makes me wish Man of Steel is coming out a lot sooner (back to sometime next year) instead of June 14, 2013. Henry, interestingly, has that Superman-ish super-heroic presence in this film as the heroic Theseus. I kept thinking of him as Superman, which I can't wait now to see him in MOS! Is it 2013 yet?

Anyway, Box Office Mojo has an article of Immortal's Friday Box Office result:

'Immortals' Defeats 'Jack,' 'Puss'

Friday Report: Immortals claimed first place with an est. $15 million, while Jack and Jill and Puss in Boots were in a close race for second... FULL STORY

And this weekend's article (again via Box Office Mojo)...
Olympian Debut for 'Immortals'

Weekend Report: Immortals led the way with an est. $32 million, while just $500,000 currently separates Jack and Jill and Puss in Boots... FULL STORY

Here are the weekend's BO result (estimated gross) with Immortals leading on top:
(Actual result to be reported Monday afternoon via Box Office Mojo)

Rank Title Weekend Total
1 Immortals $32,000,000 $32

Photos | Videos: Dean Cain at the LA "Immortals 3D" premiere!

Dean Cain attended the Relativity Media's "Immortals" premiere, which was presented in RealD 3 at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on November 7, 2011 (yesterday) in Los Angeles, California.

I found more pics of Dean and bigger ones too. He looks super handsome (and young looking! Aww, he's still my favorite Clark Kent! He remains a super hottie even at 45! DC ages like a fine wine, does he not?) in these pics!

Unfortunately, it's a tiny pic of him (to your right), I'll try to find a bigger pic of Dean and add here as soon as it's available. Hopefully, there are more pics of him. Yay, two super handsome Superman actors in one premiere! I wonder if there's a pic of him and Henry...

Updated 11/8/11: I found a bigger (with a slightly different pose) and much better pic of Dean Cain (he's still super handsome and young looking, is he not?) below...

Henry Cavill on the cover of Men's Health Magazine

covers the November 2011 issue of Men's Health Magazine.

Here’s what Henry Cavill had to share:
On losing the role of James Bond to Daniel Craig: “I obviously wasn’t right for Bond. I did [give it my all], and I wasn’t right. That’s all.”
On his reaction to losing certain roles: “I want to be chosen, not wish I was part of something. I didn’t pine over the fact that I didn’t get the last one. It was ‘move on, carry on,’ whatever!”
On maintaining an eight-pack to play Theseus in Immortals: “It’s very stressful, waking up Monday morning and saying ‘Can I still see that vein in my abs?’”
On training for Immortals on set: “There was a sense of team and camaraderie. We all sweated together, we all bled together, we all ate the same highly inefficient food and just kept on going and supported each other.”

Technically, Man of Steel isn't Cavill's first time wearing Superman's cape. About 7 years ago he was cast as Clark Kent (and alter ego) in the last update of the franchise, Superman Returns. But when the original director, McG, abruptly quit, Cavill was gone with him. As it turned out, that flaccid sequel to the Christopher Reeve series proved to be kryptonite for the career of its replacement star, Brandon Routh.

"He's definitely more Superman now than he was 7 years ago, I think," says Man of Steel director Zack Snyder. "He has been the rock that we can build this movie around."
