Weekend Box Office: Man of Steel drop to #3 with $41.2 Million with a total domestic gross of $210 Million in 9 days!

The second weekend box office for Man of Steel starring  (Clark Kent/Kal-El) &  (Lois Lane), while it's down (as expected and not surprisingly so) about 64% in its second week, it passed the $200 million mark (the 5th film this year to do so) to $210 million in its 9 days (whereas back in 2006, Superman Returns entire run, its lifetime domestic gross, was even below than MOS current 9-day grossed, with just $200 Million in 128 days) and saw its worldwide total soar to almost $400 million (also surpassing SR's worldwide run of just $391 Million) in just 11 days! Yay, for MOS! So happy and was not expecting for this film to already passed over $200 million so soon and its worldwide total to speed up very close to $400 million (it's $398.3 million est. thus far) in less than 2 weeks...not too mentioned already surpassing both SR's entire domestic and worldwide total run. I'd say that's amazing and pretty impressive for MOS and definitely a huge success in both the general audience and its current BO numbers. The sequel is definitely happening for this movie! I hope Warner Bros. Pictures will announced and confirmed the sequel for MOS with a release date very soon. I'm very much looking forward to it! For now, I'm happy for MOS and (will enjoy watching) its current theatrical release (I've seen it 4 times now and hope to see it at least a couple more times or more for as long as the film is still in theaters! Yes! Loved the movie so much, it gets better with its new viewing!) BO success (esp. for an origin/reboot film). Can't wait for the DVD/Blu-ray release!

Anyway, Deadline has an interesting MOS worldwide box office article...
‘Man Of Steel’ Speeds To $400M Worldwide: Superman Still #1 Box Office Internationally

SUNDAY 11 AM UPDATE: The Superman reboot continues as a super-hit internationally. Here and overseas, Warner Bros’ and Legendary Pictures’ holdover 3D Man Of Steel (4,207 theaters in the widest release) went into this weekend as still the big #1 leader in the worldwide marketplace. And then Superman had to battle the zombies from World War Z through today. MOS broadened out to 52 markets outside of the U.S. and Canada and now has amassed an international cume of $188.3M. With $210M from its domestic gross in just 11 days, this third Superman franchise now has a huge worldwide total of $398.3M. That includes nearly $35M on exactly 600 worldwide IMAX screens, including the $3.2M opening weekend in China where IMAX screens represent 12.5% of the country’s movie gross. The pic has played very strong throughout Asia (see Korean poster) and, in China alone, grosses were an outstanding $25.5M from roughly 5,631 screens, taking a lion’s share of the market. Opening day took almost 80% marketshare for Warner Bros’ 2nd highest opening day behind only the Harry Potter finale. Read full article here.
