In a tongue-in-cheek nod to his failed attempt at a "Batman vs Superman" movie pitch, Akiva Goldman has thrown in a movie poster billboard for a Superman/Batman film in the Will Smith movie "I Am Legend".
In "Legend," Will Smith's character is one of the few humans left alive in 2012, following a massive 2009 virus attack. As he wanders the abandoned, filth-ridden streets of Manhattan, the world is frozen in time from the moment that the rabies-like disease hit. When "Legend" hits theaters December 14th, eagle-eyed viewers will be able to spot all sorts of futuristic billboards, including one that features the iconic symbols of Batman and Superman.

More Superman References...
Also, in another Superman related, more like Superman Returns, but still part of the Superman references here. I recently saw the new movie Enchanted (twice now actually as I had to see it again with my 3-year old neice) starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, and Superman Returns star James Marsden. This film has a cameo of SR's movie ad/poster from NYC's Times Square. They must have filmed this movie when SR was showing in theatres last summer.
Anyway, during the scene where James Marsden's character Prince Edward speared the bus, he was standing directly in front of an SR ad in Times Square. I thought that was random, but super cool at the same time not too mention one of SR actors was in this movie while the SR ad was behind him.
Speaking of Enchanted, this movie debut @ #1 with $50 million dollars gross over its 5 day including thanksgiving holiday weekend.
'Enchanted' casts $50M box-office spell
Another recent release film with Superman reference was "Fred Clause" starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin Spacey (Superman Returns). In "Fred Clause," Kevin Spacey had the whole Superman cape thing going on. On top of that, they had a row of SR dolls in the toy store as well as one of the orphan kids drawing Superman when they were writing to Santa.
Also, I've recently read New York Times Best Seller author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight book (the first book of her Vampire Saga/Twilight series books). On chapter 24, Lois Lane and Superman were mentioned by the heroine named Bella Swan.
Here' was the brief Lois/Superman mention:
Chapter 24: An Empasse (p.474)
"I can't always be Lois Lane." Bella insisted. "I want to be Superman too."
