The women of Wisteria Lane have a new reason to keep their eyes on Dana Delany's Desperate Housewives character this season: "I'm the only single woman on the block now so everybody's got to watch out!" the actress jokes. It's a role that the 52-year-old, who has never married, can understand. "Do you get sick of 
people talking about it, like it's some sort of phenomenon?" Rachael asks the star. "I'm starting to feel a little freakish ... Which, I don't feel like a freak, but I don't know why everybody else makes such a big deal about it," Dana says, explaining that she enjoys her independence and feels fortunate to be so happy on her own. "The people my age are all getting divorced, they have the empty nest thing ... and they're looking at their lives like, 'Who am I, what am I doing for the rest of my life?' So I feel lucky, I've already figured that out."
The Emmy®-winner also feels lucky that she got a second chance to join the cast of Desperate Housewives after initially turning down the role of Bree. "I said no," Dana says. "And then Desperate Housewives turned into this huge hit and I did have those 3 o'clock in the morning moments of, 'Oh my god! What did I do?'" And I thought it was a great show. I thought Marc Cherry did a great job, so when he came back to me last year I didn't hesitate for a second."
Other Desperate Housewives co-stars such as Teri Hatcher, James Denton, Nicolette Sheridan, Marcia Cross, and Felicity Huffman has appeared previously on the Rachael Ray Show.
