Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder to attend this year's Comic-Con 2013

TheWrap.com reports that Man of Steel star  (Clark Kent/Kal-El) and director Zack Snyder will both be attending the Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment "Superman's 75th Anniversary Celebration" panel at Comic-Con International.

The tempo will get a defibrillator's shock at 8:30 P.M., when WBTV's corporate sibling from the film division's partner DC Comics invades the space for a celebration of Superman's 75th Anniversary. Henry Cavill and Zach Snyder are coming, but the real VIP is a copy of an original "Action Comics #1". That's where Superman made his debut in 1938. It's a loaner from musician Jack White.

The "Superman's 75th Anniversary Celebration" panel will take place inside Room 6A at 4.15pm on Saturday, July 20 in the San Diego Convention Center.

Man of Steel's director Zack Snyder and star arrived at the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival Wednesday (June 19th) for China's premiere of the Man of Steel movie.

“All of our crew members are very excited about the [film festival], and we are delighted to share this film with you,” Synder said in a press release. Man of Steel is expected to perform well in China, an increasingly important market for Hollywood. Only 34 foreign films are allowed to premiere in mainland cinemas per year, and Man of Steel is the only major Hollywood film to be screened during the summer session of the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Looks like Amy Adams was not in this Madrid premiere as there seem to be no pictures of her with Henry and Russell.

'Man of Steel' Sets Sights on June Record

Friday AM Update: Before regular Friday shows even begin, Man of Steel has already taken in an estimated $21 million. It earned $12 million from Thursday night's Wal-Mart screening program, and an additional $9 million from general midnight shows. While the Wal-Mart shows throw off the calculation a bit, this is without-a-doubt a very strong start for a non-sequel, and it's very likely that the movie winds up with at least $100 million through Sunday.

Note: Because the Wal-Mart shows occured exclusively on Thursday, Box Office Mojo will be recording those grosses on that day.

Forecast: With an incredibly strong brand and an aggressive, bold marketing effort, Man of Steel is set to fly high this weekend—so high, in fact, that it's almost guaranteed to set a new opening weekend record for the month of June.

My sources have now increased their estimates to $51M Friday, $124.4M for the three-day weekend, and $134.4M for the four-day cume through Sunday. The only other movie in the North American marketplace in wide release, Sony/Columbia Pictures’ This Is The End (3,055 theaters) which opened Wednesday as a counter-programming apocalyptic comedy is looking like $8M for Friday, $20.8M for the 3-day weekend, and $33.1M for the 5-day cume. Man of Steel stars Amy Adams & Henry Cavill on Malaysian's Galaxie Magazine

 (Clark Kent/Kal-El) & Malaysian's Galaxie Magazine (current issue: 1-15 June 2013) with Henry as Superman on the cover and an interview with him. It also featured an Man of Steel promotional photo I've seen before of Amy & Henry (from one of their cast photoshoots, but in a different pose...though they were both wearing similar clothes...the pics before were tiny and with watermarks, so I didn't post them here when I first saw them, but I've kept them just in case... There was a separate promo photo with their MOS co-stars Diane Lane & Kevin Costner. You can see those photos here, but they're in LQ and watermarked further down this post...).
