The Golden Globe Award Nominations was announced Thursday (December 13th) morning and Man of Steel stars Kevin Costner (Jonathan "Pa" Kent) for his mega-hit mini-series Hatfields & McCoys, and Michael Shannon's (General Zod) Board Walk Empire series were all nominated!

Also, her co-stars Joaquin Phoenix and Phillip Seymour Hoffman were nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture.

Amy Adams' GG reaction:

Amy Adams, “Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this nomination.  I’m so appreciative to have been part of Paul Thomas Anderson’s extraordinary film and to have had the opportunity to star alongside such respected actors as Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix who were nothing short of brilliant in their performances.” (via Awards Daily)
Speaking of Amy...AwardsLine interviewed Amy Adams recently, mainly discussing her latest movie The Master, but they also asked her about how she'll be portraying Lois Lane in the upcoming Man of Steel movie...

AwardsLine: What's your interpretation of Lois Lane in the upcoming "Man of Steel"? Adams: I grew up with Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, so I didn't want to try and be that version. Zack (Snyder) said that he wanted to play for more realism. There's definitely still banter (with Superman). She's tough, modern, and more contemporary. There's also a lot more action than I've seen in my career. (Source: Deadline.com)
Plus...Amy Adams to Receive SBFF’s Vanguard Award
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival, presented by lynda.com, is proud to present award winning actor Amy Adams with the Cinema Vanguard Award on
Thursday, January 31, 2013. She will be honored for her exceptional performance in this year’s The Master with a tribute at the 28th edition of the Festival, which runs January 24 – February 3, 2013.

Adams, a three- time Academy Award® nominee and just awarded Best Supporting Actress by the L.A. Film Critics Association, portrayed Peggy Dodd, the steely and educated wife to a charismatic spiritual leader set in the 1950s in The Master. Peter Travers said of her
performance: “Adams deserves serious award attention for the subtle authority she brings to this so-called dutiful wife. Peggy, the scariest true believer in the Cause, is barbed wire wearing a smile. And Adams makes you feel her sting.”

Durling comments, “Amy Adams is one of the gutsiest and most gifted actors working
today.  She embodies what the Cinema Vanguard Award is all about, and after her performance in THE MASTER – the time has come to recognize her talent and versatility.”
She is starring as Lois Lane in Man of Steel releasing in June 2013. Read full article here
