Dean Cain may return to Smallville and says 'Superman' is his favorite role

On The Red Carpet has a new video interview with Dean Cain mentioning that he'd love to return to Smallville, if the producers contacts him and wants him back, of course. He also mentioned Tom Welling, his former Lois & Clark's co-star Teri Hatcher's Smallville guest appearance (Episode 10.08 - Abandoned) this season, and that Superman was his favorite role he has played from the many characters/roles he had played in his many TV and films. He also talked about his new film, The Way Home.

Here's part of the interview from OTRC...
It’s hard to look like a Man of Steel, when you’re forced to wear tights. But super-fans remember Dean Cain did a stellar job on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

On The Red Carpet caught up with the busy actor, who told us it was his favorite role.

“I've played so many characters. There are so many that I love to play,” he said. “I guess the favorite character I've ever played was in Lois and Clark. I think playing Clark Kent was my favorite role, because it was the biggest role, and it was a very personal role in that sense. But there's so many films that I'm proud to be a part of.”

Cain expanded his role in the Superhero Universe, guest-starring as Dr. Curtis Knox on the CW’s Smallville, which follows the early years of Clark Kent. With word his old Lois and Clark co-star Teri Hatcher was guest starring on the 10th and final season, we had to ask if he’d be returning.

“My character on Smallville, you know he's immortal. So he wasn't killed. So I could return. I don't know, they haven't contacted me yet. But that's interesting,” he said. “I'm glad she's doing that, because I love that with the whole Superman folklore, sort of the mythos of it all, keeping everyone in there.”

Christopher Reeve did it, I was of course if he's there, I'm happy to be there, those guys work real hard. Tom Welling, you work hard my friend,” he added. “What a fantastically successful series. I'm glad Teri's going to be on, and keep up the whole mythos a little longer.”

Cain stars in the world premiere of the new film The Way Home on GMC beginning October 1st.
