Cast of 'Grey's,' 'Housewives,' nominated for SAG awards

CTV stars were among the recognized Thursday morning when the Screen Actors Guild unveiled their nominations for performances of the year in both TV and film.

On the TV front, the cast of "Grey's Anatomy" was nominated for best Drama ensemble alongside "Boston Legal," "The Closer," "Mad Men" and "The Sopranos."

The ladies of Wisteria Lane on "Desperate Housewives" were nominated for best Comedy ensemble. They'll be up against "30 Rock," "Entourage," "The Office" and "Ugly Betty."

Ellen Burstyn, who appeared in "Mitch Albom's For One More Day," which aired in Canada on CTV, was nominated for best Actress in a Telefilm or Miniseries.

The lead actors in "The Sopranos" were recognized as well, with Edie Falco being nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series and James Gandolfini for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

The SAG represents film and television actors, and the award will be given out on January 27, 2008, in Los Angeles.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursday nights on CTV. "Desperate Housewives" airs Sundays.
